Nevada Assemblymember, District 3

Selena Torres was elected to serve Nevada Assembly District 3 in November of 2018, becoming the youngest lawmaker to serve in Nevada at just 23 years old. She served as the chair of the Nevada Latino Legislative Caucus from 2019-2022.

Assemblywoman Torres is the proud daughter of a Salvadoran immigrant father, who fled the Salvadoran civil war and a mother who left Hawaii to pursue her career as a high school English teacher. Assemblywoman Torres became an educator in the Clark County School District after earning her Bachelor’s in English Literature at the University of Nevada, Reno and a Master’s in Education from the University of Las Vegas, Nevada. Most recently, she was named the Executive Director of Young Women’s Leadership Academy of Las Vegas, a charter school in Nevada.
